Bismuth Oxide Bi2O3, is yellow powder with purity of 99.9%, 99.99%, 99.999%, 99.9999% (3N 4N 5N 6N), insoluble in water and alkali, but soluble in acid.
It is used as a yellow pigment in paints and cosmetics, a precursor to the preparation of other compounds of bismuth, and also finds applications in optical glass, flame-retardant paper, electrolyte material, photoelectric materials, high temperature superconducting materials, dental materials, glaze formulations, flux formulations for fire assaying and for the manufacturing of electronic element, varistor and lighting arrester, capacitor etc.
